Butte business next to M&M sells gear to raise money

Tuesday, May 11th 2021, NBC Montana BUTTE, Mont. — On Monday afternoon, 5518 Designs posted a link to their Facebook page along with a message. “In partnership with the M&M Bar and Cafe, we’re honored to begin selling gear with 100% of the proceeds going directly to Selina’s efforts to rebuild,” it read. “Shirts, hoodies and stickers are currently in production.” In less than 24 hours, the post had been shared 412 times. According to the owner of 5518 Designs, Jon Wick, they already received over 200 orders from people across Montana. “This was a tough weekend and a tough day for Main Street Butte,” said Wick. “To be able to do something that’s tangible, that will benefit Selina, the M&M family, Uptown Butte and our business community feels really good.” The first order is expected to arrive in stores by May 20, but Wick explained they already are planning to order more. As one of the neighbors on Main Street, Wick noted they are more than business acquaintances, they are friends too. You never know when something like this is going to happen, he said, but it’s nice to know you have a strong community behind you that wants to help make it right.
